Life as a stay-at-home mom can feel so lonely and purposeless. We can easily get caught up in the day-to-day mundane tasks and lose sight of what’s important.
But if we take the time to seek God’s will for our lives and motherhood, He will reveal His plan for us and give us the strength to accomplish it!
Here are my four tips on how you can find passion and purpose in this season of motherhood:
1.Do some soul searching!
Take some time and think about things you want to accomplish.
- What is holding you back from achieving this?
- What steps do you need to take to get there?
Pray and ask God what He wants you to do with your life.
HE has a plan for you and will give you the desires of your heart if you seek him first (Proverbs 3:5-6).
2. Get intentional and create a plan.
Being a stay-at-home mom can be such a blessing to you and your family.
You have the opportunity to be present in your family’s life in a way that some families can only dream of.
Questions to ask yourself:
- What are you called to do?
- What are your gifts and talents?
- How can you use those to serve others?
3. Find something just for you.
Is there a hobby you use to have or something you use to enjoy before becoming a mother but had to set it to the side since managing a household? Girrl, pick that baby back up!
If you don’t have a previous hobby or activity you use to enjoy, try something new!
Rock climbing, hiking, or start a blog, heyyy! Get bold and creative!
It’s so important to have things in your life that bring you joy.
4. Seek out other moms!
You are not alone in this motherhood journey! Find other Christian moms to connect with and encourage one another.
It is so important to have a community to build you up and encourage you!
We are all on this motherhood journey together, let’s do it with intention and purpose!
Actionable steps to take:
- Create a schedule.
- Get involved in your church or community. There are many ways to do this, whether it’s volunteering, joining a small group or Bible study, or just being friendly and getting to know people.
- Get involved in your child’s school and extracurricular activities.
- Go to baby/toddler playgroup meetups.
- Find a hobby or activity that you’re passionate about outside of motherhood.
What makes you feel alive and fulfilled? Pursue those things!
Motherhood is an important job, but it’s not your only identity. You are so much more than just a mom!
You can use your motherhood as a way to glorify God and impact the lives of those around you.
You are not alone, other Christian mothers are right there with you! Seek them out and encourage one another in your faith (Hebrews 10:24-25).
